Still Standing on the Promise
By Keymasha Knight | Adonai’s Power
Scripture Focus:
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time;
But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
Because it will surely come,
It will not tarry.”
— Habakkuk 2:3 (NKJV)
Will The Promise Ever Come?
There are moments when disappointment hits harder than expected. You believed, you prayed, you fasted — and yet, things didn’t turn out the way you envisioned. You start questioning, “Did I hear God right?” or “Maybe it’s just not meant to be.”
Even as I go through my own disappointments, I know that delay does not mean denial. I am reminded that God’s promises are not on human time; they are set on heaven’s schedule. Even when you can’t trace the path of His hand, you can trust the faithfulness of His Word.
When God told Habakkuk to “write the vision,” what God was telling the prophet was, “Don’t lose sight of what I’ve spoken.” The very plans that anticipate should be the words of God and not the hopes of a man’s heart. And when you have peace and confirmation in your spirit that your Heavenly Father has spoken, don’t allow the trials of life to pry it out of your hand. Sometimes disappointment tries to erase divine direction, but faith writes it down again.
Go back to what God said. Open your journal, find the notes, replay that Word. Write it again with new ink and a renewed spirit.
Because what God says will still come to pass, even if it comes through a route you didn’t expect.
“Now Faith” Is Coming
Perseverance doesn’t mean pretending you’re okay; what it means is choosing belief when everything else feels broken. It’s saying, “Lord, I still trust You,” through the tears, the uncertainty, and the silence.
Sarah laughed before she carried Isaac.
Peter wept before he preached.
The cross came before the resurrection.
Disappointment didn’t cancel destiny — it cultivated it. I want to say that again - Disappointment didn’t cancel destiny — it cultivated it!
So take a deep breath and wipe your tears.
You are still in God’s plan.
Waiting seasons are often the shaping seasons. They grow endurance, humility, and maturity. When things continue to challenge God’s word, we can feel like we’ve done something wrong, but you’re not being punished; you’re being prepared.
When the promise finally arrives, you’ll realize the wait was worth it — because the waiting made you ready.
Declaration of Faith
“Lord, I will not give up on what You’ve promised me.
I will hold on to Your Word, even when my heart feels weary.
Strengthen me to stand, speak, and trust —
until I see what You said.”
- What promise from God have you allowed disappointment to silence?
- How is God using this waiting season to strengthen your faith?
- What can you “write again” as an act of trust today?
As you retake your position of faith, remember:
The vision still speaks.
Even if it’s been quiet for a while, your story isn’t finished, and your promise hasn’t expired.
God remembers what He said.
And when it comes to pass, it will speak louder than your disappointment ever did.

Enough For The Next Step…
Family, this week I want us to lean in and make God’s Word our priority. Life will always give us distractions—some good, some draining—but nothing can replace time in the Scriptures. Psalm 119:105 reminds us: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Think about that for a moment. Lamps don’t always light the entire road, but they give you enough to take the next step. That’s what God’s Word does—it doesn’t always show us the whole picture, but it provides us with enough wisdom and direction to keep moving forward.
This week, I encourage you to pause and ask: Am I letting God’s Word guide my steps, or am I trying to walk in my own strength? The Word doesn’t just inform us—it transforms us. Every verse you read is an invitation to hear His heart, steady your spirit, and grow your faith.
Reflection: What area of your life needs the lamp of God’s Word right now? Please take 10 minutes today to read a passage and let it shine on that place.
I pray your week is filled with revelation, power and grace.
A Mother’s Heart Has God’s Eyes…
I’m learning more each day how much God loves family. While I knew that God loved the world and sent His Son to save the world and had hosts of angels living in the heavens, it wasn’t until I became a mother, and further, began to mother growing children that His heart and plan for family became something I would understand and begin to desire more of.
Set in the beautiful moments of children’s laughs and imaginary play, were childlike expressions of trust, unconditional love and curiosity that drew them closer to the ones who covered and protected them. I saw this as I raised my boys and learned from them how to be a better daughter through their responses to my motherhood.
How could God love us so much? Have you ever asked yourself that question? I have and while I am still understanding this more and more, my mother heart shares the mysteries of God’s love towards His children.
When my children broke a piece of furniture or fell and hurt themselves disobeying a command, my first thought was if they were ok. After making sure they were not seriously hurt, I would then discipline them hoping they were ready to learn the lesson being taught from the incident that had taken place. I loved and forgave them instantly. Further, my love for them wanted them to grow from that moment.
Isn’t that our God? How many times have you been broken because of life’s circumstances or been hurt doing something you shouldn’t have done? Was God concerned about punishing you and making you pay? No, He is and has always been concerned about you. He loves and forgives instantly, but wants you to learn the lesson. A mother’s heart teaches that.
On this Mother’s Day, I hope you do one of two things; honor the mother you have or had by thinking of the many ways you are better because of their love. And then, honor your children and seek the Lord about the lessons they can learn in order to walk closely to Him. Walking with the Lord is the best Mother’s Day gift any mother could ask for.
