The Sacred Pause Before the Turn…
As this month draws to a close, I want to invite you into something holy—not rushed, loud, or performative. I want you to pause. A return to and a settling at the feet of Jesus is the very thing you need to close out this season of your “right now” life.
Before the new year speaks.
Before goals clamor for attention.
Before calendars fill and expectations crowd your spirit.
Scripture shows us again and again that clarity is born in stillness. Direction is received—not demanded. And the posture that positions us to hear God clearly is humility and nearness.
Mary chose the better thing when she sat at Jesus’ feet. She didn’t come with a plan. She came to listen. And in that listening, alignment happened.
That same invitation is extended to you—right now.
These last days of the month are not leftovers. They are consecrated spaces.
Why These Last Days Matter
The temptation is to rush toward January with lists and resolutions. But wisdom teaches us to end well before we begin again.
Ending the month at the feet of Jesus allows you to:
Release what was heavy
Discern what was formative
Receive what is next—without striving
God does not shout His plans over the noise of our busyness. He whispers them to hearts that are willing to wait.
What It Looks Like to Sit at His Feet
This isn’t about extended prayer marathons or perfect quiet time routines. It’s about posture.
It’s choosing presence over productivity.
Listening over listing.
Surrender over strategy.
Here’s how to enter this sacred space with intention.
Try these steps for the Last Days of the Month
1. Create a Daily Appointment with God
Choose a consistent time—even 15–20 minutes—and protect it. Light a candle. Open your Bible. Silence your phone. Let your body and spirit know: this time is holy.
2. Ask Before You Act
Begin each time with a simple prayer:
“Jesus, what do You want me to know as I prepare for what’s ahead?”
Then sit. Don’t rush to fill the silence. Let Him lead the conversation.
3. Reflect Before You Request
Journal through these questions with the Lord:
What did this month/ year teach me about You?
Where did I sense growth—even through difficulty?
What am I carrying that You’re asking me to release?
4. Listen for Themes, Not Full Blueprints
God often reveals direction in seeds, not schedules. Pay attention to recurring words, scriptures, burdens, or invitations. Write them down. Trust that clarity unfolds with obedience.
5. Surrender the Timeline
End each time with open hands:
“Lord, I trust Your timing more than my urgency. Prepare me for what You’re preparing for me.”
A Gentle Reminder
You are not behind.
You are not late.
You are being formed.
The goal of the new year is not to do more, it’s to become more like Christ, aligned with His will, anchored in His presence, and led by His voice.
So before the calendar turns, sit with Him.
At His feet is where plans are purified.
At His feet is where purpose is clarified.
At His feet is where peace is restored.
And from that place, you will rise, ready.
Let the last days of this month be sacred.
